Accomplishments: Developed document “Four Keys to Being Prepared for a Disaster” an abbreviated disaster planning tool focusing on four main topics. Added items to CMS Manual “Emergency Preparedness for Dialysis Facilities.” Created an Appendix of Forms from the CMS Emergency Preparedness manual in Word format to increase usability. Community Partner Resources

Collaboration between dialysis facilities and their local emergency management agency isn't just a Condition for Coverage, it's a best practice to ensure emergency management knows and understands the needs of the kidney community in your area. You can use these resources to conduct a disaster drill so that both dialysis providers and emergency management officials are ready to respond in a disaster.

Industry Supplies and Services Sub-Team

Goals: To assist organizations in locating and securing industry supplies in the event of a large emergency.

Accomplishments: Coordination with other KCER subgroups to identify needs and available resources.
